Luxury trucks and SUVs are all the rage these days. But one feature those capable and  capable vehicles lack is open-top motoring. Thankfully there are still a few luxurious convertibles to satiate your needs to enjoy roof-down driving and the latest in new automotive features and technology.

Based on Manufacturers' Suggested Retail Prices, here are the 10 most affordable luxury convertibles you can buy new in Canada for 2021.

10th place: 2021 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet - $127,600 CDN

The 2021 Porsche 911 is one of the world’s most iconic luxury grand touring cars. Introduced last year, the latest generation 2+2 passenger Porsche doesn’t sway from the sports car’s familiar rear-engine recipe. The base, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 911 Carrera Cabriolet is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine that makes 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is standard equipment. Plenty of modern convertibles deliver astounding performance. But nothing feels quite like a Porsche 911 convertible on a warm day.

9th place: 2021 Lexus LC Convertible - $122,500 CDN

All-new for 2021, the Lexus LC 500 Convertible is the open-air version of the luxurious and high-performing LC Coupe. The RWD, 2+2 passenger Lexus convertible comes with a power-folding top with active roll bars that deploy when a rollover is detected. Whereas the LC Coupe can be had with either gas or hybrid power, the open-top version only comes with the hardtop's 471-horsepower and 398-pound-feet of torque 5.0-litre 8-cylinder engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

8th place: 2021 Mercedes-Benz E 450 4MATIC Cabriolet - $88,900 CDN

New for 2021, the open-air version of Mercedes-Benz’s E Class mid-size 2-door coupe sports a turbocharged 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine making 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque routed to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. The 4-passenger E 450 4MATIC Cabriolet also has Mercedes-Benz’s Aircap (electric front and rear wind deflectors) plus Airscarf (that sends warm air circulating the neck area of the driver and front passenger) for comfortable al fresco motoring on cooler Canadian days.

7th place: 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible - $76,898 CDN

Chevrolet’s iconic 2-passenger sports car is now in the second year of its eighth generation. And it’s different from any other Corvette in history. Instead of the usual engine residing upfront, the 2021 Corvette Stingray has a mid-engine layout. The Stingray Convertible gets a power-folding hardtop. With performance at the top of the ‘Vette’s list of priorities, a 6.2-litre 8-cylinder engine generating 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission comes standard.

6th place: 2021 Jaguar F-Type Convertible P300 - $76,000 CDN

For 2021, the 2-passenger Jaguar F-Type Convertible gets a new look up front and enhanced technology inside its luxurious cabin. The base, F-Type P300 is now powered exclusively by a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, as the optional 340-hp V6 has been dropped. The 4-cylinder’s output remains 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The F-Type Convertible can be had only with RWD, and as in all F-Types, an 8-speed automatic transmission is standard.

5th place: 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster - $68,800 CDN

As the most affordable mid-engine convertible you can buy, the 2-seat 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster offers a lot of luxury and open-air driving fun for the money. The base model comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque going to the rear wheels via 6-speed manual transmission—more than enough power for public roads yet still sufficient for a thrilling drive whenever the streets become twisty and less travelled.

4th place: 2021 Audi A5 Cabriolet Progressiv 45 TFSI quattro S tronic - $65,500 CDN

Like all Audis, the 2+2 passenger A5 Cabriolet delivers a unique skill set combining advanced luxury features, a powerful engine and standard AWD that significantly enhances traction on both wet and dry pavement. As such, the A5 Cabriolet rides and drives like few other luxury convertibles. The base A5 45 TFSI’s 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder makes 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. For 2020, the entire A5 lineup received an interior makeover, the highlight of which is a large 10.1-inch touch screen sitting atop the center dash.

3rd place: 2021 BMW Z4 Roadster sDrive30i - $63,200 CDN

The 2021 BMW Z4 Roadster is like a Mazda MX-5 Miata for grown-ups. BMW’s 2-seater luxury convertible offers the classic front-engine/RWD layout, with the rear axle close to the seat of the driver. Over the Mazda, the base Z4 sDrive30i offers more power (255 horsepower /295 pound-feet of torque connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission) from its turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, along with many luxury features and advanced safety technologies.

2nd place: 2021 BMW 430i Cabriolet ($62,100 CDN)

Based on the 3 Series compact sedan, which was all-new last year, the 2+2 passenger 2021 BMW 4 Series Cabriolet is all-new for 2021. The base, RWD 430i Cabriolet is powered by a 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque turbocharged 4-cylinder engine matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. While the original 4 Series Cabriolet had a folding hardtop, this new generation convertible has a soft top that is now lighter and offers more cargo space.

1st place: 2021 BMW 230i xDrive Cabriolet - $49,500 CDN

As the most affordable luxury convertible in Canada, the 2+2 passenger 2021 BMW 2 Series Cabriolet delivers a lot of value. The base model 230i xDrive Cabriolet is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A powered fabric roof, all-wheel-drive, and an 8-speed automatic are standard. Taut, without being too firm, eager in its direction changes, quick and responsive, the compact BMW convertible is an absolute joy to drive on winding roads in all sorts of Canadian driving conditions.
