Which 2021 Honda CR-V is Right for You?

Which level of trim best fits your needs in a new Honda CR-V?

The 2021 Honda CR-V is one of the better compact SUVs you can buy. Ingredients for the CR-V's recipe for success include a decades-long history of reliability and high resale value, easy and efficient driving manners, practicality, and one of the roomiest interiors in its class. A slight design and feature refresh for 2020 has helped the 5-passenger Honda CR-V compact SUV remain Honda's best-selling vehicle in Canada. And it all comes at a price tag that's digestible to value-conscious buyers.

All 2021 CR-Vs are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine, rated at 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque matched to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Fuel economy estimates are competitive, with front-wheel-drive (FWD) trims scoring a combined city and highway estimate of 7.7 litres per 100 kilometres. In contrast, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) trims are rated at 8.1.

A total of six 2021 CR-V trim levels start with the base $30,270 (all Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices in Canadian dollars) LX-2WD—the only trim available with FWD. Next up is the mid-line $32,770 LX, $36,970 Sport and $38,770 EX-L trims. If you are looking for the most full-featured CR-Vs, there are the top-line $42,070 Touring and $43,870 Black Edition.

Standard CR-V safety systems and driver assists includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. The Sport and EX-L trims add Honda Lanewatch blind-spot monitoring, while the topline Touring and Black Edition get their own Blind Spot Information system and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor systems.
